Our Chapel
Maldon Fields has been fitted with the latest equipment to meet today’s expectations.
This includes a contemporary multi-faith chapel, or ceremonial space, which is refreshingly light and welcoming. Decorated with local artwork and flowers, it is designed to provide an uplifting setting for any service.
The chapel has 100 seats providing an intimate yet comfortable space for most. It can also be expanded into the entrance lobby to allow standing room for another 100 or more with speakers and a screen fitted to ensure that everyone feels part of the service. Outdoor speakers have also been added for the benefit of younger families or when mourners gather under the entrance canopy (the porte cochere). The chapel’s flexibility should ensure it is suitable for congregations of any size.
A specialist music system has been fitted with the option to live stream funerals for those who can’t attend. Themed slide shows can also be organised and the range of options are outlined in more detail within "Personalising A Service" for your loved one.
Our Chapel Attendant will be present throughout the service to help where required and ensure that the service runs smoothly in assistance with the funeral director.
At the end of the service, mourners will be guided to the sheltered floral tribute area to gather with friends and family. Floral tributes are kept for 2 days, unless instructed otherwise, before being removed to help keep the place tidy.
A comfortable waiting room at the entrance to the chapel provides a place for mourners to gather before the service.
There are 80 car parking spaces including 5 disabled bays.
Maldon Fields is fully and easily accessible throughout for anyone with reduced mobility. A hearing loop has also been fitted to the chapel.
